“What an absolutely smashing little gem! This cosy restaurant boasts a delightful atmosphere and the most attentive, smiley staff you could hope for.
The food, however, is the true star of the show – exquisitely crafted modern Asian dishes that are quite simply out of this world. Every bite is sheer perfection.
As someone who is lactose intolerant, I was a tad disappointed to find I couldn’t indulge in any of their desserts. But the wonderful team went above and beyond, whipping up a sublime lactose-free treat for me on the spot. Needless to say, it was positively delicious.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It’s an absolute must-visit that will undoubtedly become one of your favourite haunts. Simply top-notch!
With over 30 years of experience, Chef Alex Boyd brings a bold, creative energy to Kumquat’s modern Asian menu. His culinary journey has taken him through Michelin-starred kitchens, high-profile events for royalty and world leaders, and an award-winning restaurant in Hong Kong, where he discovered his deep love for Asian flavours and met his wife, Virginia.
Alex combines classical European technique with the vibrant tastes of East and Southeast Asia, creating dishes that are refined, expressive, and full of personality. At Kumquat, his passion for flavour, detail, and hospitality is at the heart of every guest’s experience.
Lunch: Monday to Sunday, 12:00pm – 3:30pm
Dinner: Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00pm – 10:00pm
During the warmer summer months, we open from 9:30am for coffee and pastries—available for walk-ins only.
